Andrej Cabala Received the Award of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic

Andrej Cabala, a student at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, and a member of the research team led by RNDr. Michal Vališka, Ph.D. at our department, has received the Award of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic for University Students for 2026.

The award was granted for the work “Enhanced triplet superconductivity in next-generation ultraclean UTe2”, focused on the study of exceptionally pure crystals of the unconventional superconductor UTe2. Andrej Cabala played a key role in introducing and further developing the growth method for these ultraclean single crystals at our department. The outstanding quality of the prepared samples enabled detailed investigations of the superconducting properties of UTe2 and contributed to important advances in the field of spin-triplet superconductivity.

The Learned Society Award recognizes outstanding achievements of students, researchers, and educators. Andrej’s success represents significant recognition of his scientific work and further highlights the quality of research in unconventional superconductivity carried out at our department.
