The Czech–Taiwan Workshop on Quantum Materials (June 28 – July 5, 2026), organized within the AMULET project, brings together researchers from Charles University and National Taiwan Normal University to discuss recent advances in low-dimensional and quantum materials, light–matter interactions, and emerging quantum technologies. Building on a long-standing collaboration supported by joint research projects, academic exchanges, and student mobility, the workshop provides a platform for scientific discussion, knowledge sharing, and the development of future collaborative activities. In addition to the scientific program, participants will take part in hands-on laboratory sessions designed to introduce the experimental infrastructure and research capabilities available at Charles University while providing practical experience with advanced characterization techniques and methodologies.
A particularly important aspect of this partnership is the strong emphasis on education and the training of young researchers. Over the past years, numerous undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students have participated in research internships and exchange visits between the Czech Republic and Taiwan, gaining hands-on experience in advanced experimental techniques and international research environments. These exchanges not only enhance scientific skills but also foster intercultural understanding, establish lasting professional networks, and create opportunities for future joint supervision and doctoral education. Strengthening student mobility remains a key priority of the collaboration and an essential investment in the next generation of scientists working in the field of quantum materials.
The event reflects the growing partnership between Czech and Taiwanese research communities and their shared commitment to advancing both fundamental and applied research in quantum materials while creating new opportunities for long-term academic cooperation.
