Sebastian Georg Murk, Ph.D. » Dynamical black holes: quantum signatures, singularity resolution, and observational prospects

Location: Lecture room F2, MFF UK (first floor, Ke Karlovu 5, Praha 2)

This talk is a non-technical introduction to dynamical black holes. I will explain key concepts related to black hole observations and discuss the influence of quantum effects at important evolution stages such as formation and evaporation, including their role in the infamous information loss paradox. Furthermore, I will outline how quantum corrections may remove spacetime singularities and identify possible observational signatures. Time permitting, I will conclude with an overview of recent developments related to observational properties of nonsingular (“regular”) black hole candidates.
