Mgr. Štěpán Marek » Electronic Structure Effects in Molecular Junctions

Department of Condensed Matter Physics, CUNI

Location: Seminar room KFKL, MFF UK (room F052 - ground floor near the rear staircase, Ke Karlovu 5)

Molecular junctions are systems with potential to form the smallest functional circuit components. Besides the electronic transport properties, one can also observe mechanical effects, such as rotation of the molecule in response to the electric current. In this talk, I will present how peculiarities of the electronic structure of molecular junctions can influence their observable properties using three examples - ferrocene molecular break junction, conjugated "Geländer" molecule system and finite sodium clusters.

Seminar on Condensed Matter Theory

Group of Theoretical Physics organizes a regular seminar on theory of condensed matter physics.

Usually, we meet
every Thursdays at 13:00
in seminar room F 052
Ke Karlovu 5, 121 16 Praha 2.

You are welcome to join us!
