Ubaid Ahmed » Microstructural and Morphological Evolution of Heat-Treated Ti6Al4V Samples

Institute of Physics, Czech Academy of Sciences

Location: F052 KFKL seminar room

This study examines the microstructural and morphological evolution of Ti6Al4V samples subjected to heat treatment. Specimens produced via Direct Melt Laser Sintering (DMLS) underwent additional heat treatment  cycles designed to reduce residual stresses and refine the material's properties. Advanced characterization techniques, including Micro Computed Tomography (MicroCT) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), were employed to analyze pore morphology and phase composition.

The research highlights the influence of heat treatment conditions on pore characteristics, phase stability, and microstructure, offering valuable insights into optimizing these parameters for high-performance applications. The findings underscore the critical role of thermal processing in tailoring the properties of DMLS-produced components.
