Charles University Grant Agency project rated ‘exceptionally good’

The Charles University Grant Agency has published the final evaluations of its funded projects. We are pleased to share that the project ‘Electrical and magnetic properties of rare-earth iridates under extreme conditions’ (no. 148622), solved by Mgr. Daniel Staško, Ph.D., received the rating ‘exceptionally good’.

The project, carried out in the years 2022 and 2024, focused on the experimental investigation of rare-earth pyrochlore iridates under extreme conditions and contributed significantly to our understanding of their structural, electronic and magnetic behaviour.

Daniel has since successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis and is now working in a well-established private company specialising in electron microscopy technologies. We appreciate his work during his time at our department and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

Some of the outcomes from the project were published in prestigious journals, e.g.: Robust pinned magnetisation in A2Ir2O7 iridates, the case of Er2Ir2O7 and Lu2Ir2O7 flux-grown single crystals; D. Staško, et al.; Scientific Reports 14 (2024) 21773; DOI: 10.1038/s41598-024-71049-3
