UAAT-ICU Workshop 2025

UAAT-ICU Workshop 2025

In the term of 14th - 17th July 2025 the UAAT-ICU Workshop: International Taiwan–Czech Event on Research, Innovation, and Education take place in Prague, Czech Republic.
This gathering marks a significant moment in the growing scientific collaboration between the Czech Republic and Taiwan - two partners united by a shared commitment to innovation, education, and the advancement of high-tech and next-generation technologies. Our partnership is built on strong foundations. Taiwan is a global leader in semiconductors and advanced electronics, while Czechia brings deep expertise in materials science, instrumentation, and condensed matter physics. Together, these complementary strengths create a powerful synergy for scientific discovery and technological innovation.

This workshop brings together leading research institutions from Taiwan and Czechia, including National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), National Taiwan University (NTU), and Charles University, with vital networking to strategic partners such as the Heyrovský Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences and the Quantum Materials for Sustainable Technologies (QM4ST) consortium, coordinated by the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.

Beyond research, this workshop aims to support long-term collaboration through joint educational initiatives, researcher and student mobility, and industry engagement. By nurturing the next generation of scientific leaders and bridging institutions across continents, this initiative lays the groundwork for enduring cooperation and shared success in frontier science and technology.

Our research is supported by two Czech open-access infrastructures: the Materials Growth & Measurement Laboratory (MGML), and NanoEnviCz, which integrates advanced nanotechnology facilities for the synthesis, characterisation, and environmental assessment of nanomaterials. The worshop is coordinated by team of prof. Jana Kalbáčová Vejpravová.
