News from the group of structure analysis

The group of Structure Analysis is a core of the organizing committee of the ECRS-11 conference that is organized from June 3 to June 7, 2024 in the Prague Congress Centre. We organize the conference together with colleagues from the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering, Czech technical University and from the Institute of Nuclear Physics, Czech Academy of Sciences in Rez. The conference program chair is prof. Jozef Keckes from Montanuniversität Leoben in Austria.

In the week May 29 - June 2 we organized in Uherské Hradiště traditional conference Struktura, Struktura 2023 with a rich program and tutorials. Main program was devoted to the presentations of groups and laboratories in the Czech and Slovak Republics dealing with crystallography and X-ray, neutron and electron structure analysis.

Our in-house characterization of unique pyrochlore heterostructures using X-ray scattering methods contributed to recent work by Jian Liu's research group at the University of Tennessee. They designed and synthesized a pyrochlore heterostructure where the breaking of the spin ice rule and the condensation of magnetic monopole in insulating Dy2Ti2O7 can be detected by anomalous magnetoresistance in the Bi2Ir2O7 conducting layer.
