Research interests: synthesis and crystal growth of new Heusler alloys and solid solutions based on them, investigation of their structural and physical properties. The widespread tunability of the Heusler compounds through chemical substitutions provides many materials to study. Their various, frequently exotic, technologically applicable properties have attracted the perpetual interest of the scientific community since their discovery. Among the almost 2000 possible X2YZ permutations, the groups of alloys revealed the magnetic shape memory effect (MSM) represents the most technologically applicable and intensively studied materials.

EXPERIENCE

I have experience working with: optical floating zone furnace (model FZ-T-4000-VI-VPM-PC single crystals grows), induction furnace for Bridgman methods, Monoarc, scanning electron microscope MIRA II Tescan, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), diffractometer Bruker and Cu Kα radiation, Laue X-ray diffraction, physical property measurement system (PPMS, Quantum Design with different options namely: vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), AC transport measurement system (ACT) and heat capacity measurements) et al.
